David Lama - Mountaineer, Climber, Freespirit
I was born in 1990. My mom is an Innsbruck native and my dad a mountain guide from Nepal.
Success, to me, doesn’t primarily mean reaching the summit, but rather living up to my own expectations. That doesn’t only depend on which projects I do or do not realize, but rather whether I do so in a style in which I can express myself. Adhering to that idea is my priority, and I try to follow that in every day life as well.
What matters to me is that I can stand behind my decisions and actions. Obviously, a series of misfortunes can lead to a fatal end on any of my adventures. There is no point in denying that fact. It is my willingness to commit that demonstrates the total conviction of my actions, and that gives great personal value to my alpinism.
Every mountaineer wants to leave something behind, and at the same time, he has the responsibility to respect what he inherits. First ascents are an eternal constant of alpinism.

David Lama - His last resting-place in Nepal
A part of David Lama's ashes were brought to the summit of Fox Peak in Nepal, where he used to acclimatize for his attempts on Lunag Ri. Close friends and relatives join his parents on this hike deep into the Solu Khumbu, to build a so-called Chorten as his last resting-place.

David Lama - Looking back to move forward / Compilation 2018

There are more ways to describe a year than in plain number of days. To sum it up, 2018 was an intense one. Enjoy this look back at some of 2018's mountain moments. Most had the primary purpose of climbing up. Sometimes it was enjoying the way down. Footage from Nepal, Alaska, the Mont Blanc range and many spots in the Alps near my home.

This is so beautiful. I just found David for the first time tonight. This is just surreal. So moving. So heartbreaking. Too young. Much too young. Climb high, David. Nothing is holding you back, now.
From about the 8 minute mark, I don’t think I’ve watched anything that intense, you can literally wring the sweat from my hands like a soaking wet towel. This video was absolutely stunning, that’s how you climb a mountain, unlike these overcrowded Everest expedition. I do understand that’s still not easy, but this was on a different level.
Can anyone please tell me the name of the song in this video??
Conrad's a psychopath.
Anyone know the name of the track towards the end
That was incredible to watch. I’ve been watching mountaineering videos for years and I still can’t fathom where they get the strength and courage to do this. That moment where he was walking on the ridge was epic. It’s when the camera zooms out and you see how small and insignificant they are against the mountain. Just incredible
4:00 - It made me emotional.
Why a memorial ?
Ruhe in Frieden David
My dream hike🙏💪🏿⛰️
Rest in Peace My Brother 🙏
They always think they are invincible and in the end, the mountain gets them.
Now he is ever resting.
What happened ? And who is David Lama ? What happened to him????
Sure you can. Start with Everest then work your way up to harder mountains.
One of the guys I really wish I could have met or even reach the level to be considered worthy of partnering with him, gone way too soon
A successful failure
Rest in peace beautiful Soul, such an auspicious place to be ❤
Rest in peace David 💜
Rest in peace. David! 🙏🦋💐
What a lovely tribute 🌹
mountain climbers know the odds. Sucks when you cant beat it.
so precious, so beautiful - so good to know he had people loving him with all their heart. May we care more each day for one another and enjoy the beauty of it next to the pristine beauty of nature calling us to see beauty whereever we can.
Lucky for him he was given a memorable resting place by his colleagues. Not many got to have this kind of ceremony. 🥲
A terribly moving tribute to David beautifully done. R.I.P. David.

Rip David, Hansgorg and Roskelley I never forget that day I’ve read the bad news. I’ve lost two of my legends in one day. So sad.
Rest in eternal peace in your beloved mountains🙏

Pozdrawiam ❤❤❤❤. Renata
You are where you belong. Rest in peace
What a tribute. What a view. What a legend. I would not be disappointed if this were my final place to rest for eternity.
Fabulous!
I wanna know what kind of drugs these guys do when their not climbing. That rush is an addiction in sure.
